Traveling Luculently...!

The cogent quality of the following tweet -embedded for your convenience- will be instantaneously recognized, we are most certain of it... Zounds, we have a ''Luminous Travel'' playlist over on our YouTube channel -also for your uttermost convenience- and none of the videos handpicked for it have ever stated things so clearly, in such a limpid and pellucid way as this right here:

Oh Yeah - Absolutely!

Cinco De Mayo...?

Hmm... I don't think I've ever - everrrrrrrrrr - blogged about this, on any blog of mine, throughout the TLB Prime Network and its notorious (if not always luminous) rich history...!

Maybe it is time to atone for that oversight - here and now?
Alright... Let's go!

As a luminous history buff,
I truly have no excuse
not to have delved into this before...

ESPECIALLY
given the fact that
thanks to the deranged creativity
of Georges and Lucases
the masses at large are, nowadays,
totally confused about these things...

...which leads to terrible hangovers, for the majority, on the next day...

(simply adding up the 14% with the 18% and the 35%...)

Suffice it to state, here -in blog; luculent blog!- it is the .5%
that is correct: Cinco de Mayo is, very nearly,
the ''300'' of Mexico!
(...must have inspired the adaptation of ''Seven Samurai''
into ''The Magnificent Seven'' also...
but that is another story!)

And now that is cleared out...

Maybe we can get down to the important stuff, nowadays:
the reason to party.

One of those bands time has forgotten
but that I vaguely recalled -always-
as their tune on the subject seemed to always be on
whenever the radio would be turned on...
''Wall of Voodoo''
was that band - and their seminal hit,
a timeless piece of music if there ever was one,
is called... ''Mexican Radio'' - what else?
(Never mind that it sounds like some other
nation and culture completely...!)
We can still chug down tequila to that... no?!?

Then again - I'd sooner skip the tequila
...skip Sleeping with the Sirens...

Too much tequila can lead to such nightmares...

That was for the voodoo part
(never mind that it has nothing to do with Mexico...)
now for the WALL part...
(the one Drumpf still dreams of seeing built
- and the hombres pay for it?
Yeah... rrrrrright.)

Nòs temos sò é que continuar a fazer do nosso melhor
no tempo que temos aqui, nesta terra...

S.M.A.C.K. : Stolen Memories Alert - Christmas Kaput

The original print of this photograph
-a sentimental favorite of all the women in my life-
was to be found inside my old wallet
that I had retired from active duty
a while ago, already...

This shot was taken many, many years ago indeed -
I was not even a wee bit lad at the time
but little more than a little child,
especially by today's standards
that see grown men in their twenties
prolonging their teenager waywardness
almost into infinity indeed
- that is, when they are not pushing drugs
or pushing up daisies, already...

One or two of those turds
that specialize in exactly this
have my old wallet now -
that is, if they didn't discard it already.
And, alas, I do not expect them
to have had the courtesy and decency
of dropping it off near a mailbox
much less inside of one-
so that it could be returned to me,
along with all the precious mementos
that it does contain...
How could they have such a thought, even,
when they are but turds and scumbags?
But that is another story...

Along with this old favorite print,
other prints and plenty of nostalgic,
personal things of no worth to you
but of immense value for me -
membership cards, mementos yes,
-so many various elements that made it
a veritable time capsule
representative of my life and times-
were to be found inside that wallet;
but what was not in there were
the ''carte-soleil''
or my SIN...
Or even any credit cards
that weren't already to discard!
There was practically nothing in there
of true value to you, thieves!
There was some cash in there, sure;
but even that had more nostalgic value to it
than actual monetary value.
Roughly 200$ - if one equates it to
the local wretched currency -
but also two bills with impressive numbers
(100 and 50)
that are legal tender in Jamaica, really:
hence it is only about 1.50$ of value!
All of these had their true value
in the memories they brought me
of travels with my wife...
And the promise of repeating that -
eventually, in the future...
But not yet - no, not just yet;
that is another story, too...

Damnable ladrâos!
Malditos imbéciles!
Blasted wretches by any other name -
in any other language!
Why, oh but why did you have
to get it into your numbskulls
to try and pilfer from *me*
on the threshold of these
holidays of 2015 -
easily one of the most
''up and down'' years
of my entire LIFE?
WHY, you morons???
The question is not only ''why'' but
HOW - as in ''how did you dare
and purport to lay claim to
ANYTHING that is MINE''
- you accursed lowlives?

No, there is no love lost for humanity here no more;
no luculence left, no luminescence...

The little boy with the cute little smile has left now

He is replaced by the Avenger
and Justice Seeker:

AND VENGEANCE
- ALONG WITH JUSTICE -
SHALL BE MINE!

What Is Not Luminous - Can Still Be Luculent!

Luculent And Succulent...!
Okay - maybe that is pushing it a little bit now...

The latin luculentus was not made up by us here at the TLB Prime Network - we assure thee! It has its deep root in the well-known lux and is all about what is bright, what is clear, what is of the Light...!

And thus, as such, this blog will contain nothing obtuse, nothing dark as not to obfuscate - and only things that are indeed both light, in content, and of The Light in spirit!

Let us start off on the right (if not righteous) note immediately with this obviously de-light-ful entry, straight from the bright lights of Bollywood:

Why Bollywood, you may ask?
Because its future is brighter than Hollywood - of course!

NOTA BENE:
for those in doubt, the preceding falls in the category "light - in content" indeed!
AQ would be proud! (Some of you may call him AC or AM... It's all A-OK.)
Entries of 'The Light - in spirit' will be forthcoming!
Thank you!

Luminous... Ah... Luculent Connections!

Have you seen the latest publicity barrage
worked around the latest Madagascar extravaganza?
The video below is a clever and amusing usage
of YouTube as it is - but on their actual YT page
it gets even funkier, shall we say!
You can click after viewing this one here though:

Only penguins and people can drive...
Right.

Hence the PwO:
 the once and future
 Penguin World Order
(not associated with the book publisher
by the same name -
but wouldn't it be cool if it was?
But that's for another blog - again!)

Henceforth,
Penguins and People -
all across the world -
UNITE!

Aww... Kind makes me think
of the purported-to-be greatest
speech of all-time now:

Great job, Charlie -
great Anti-Adolf twist!
If it isn't quite exactly "luminous"
it sure is luculent enough!

That "Private Penguin" dude
bears an uncanny resemblance to you -
does he not?

Surely all but an homage type of thing -
after all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
and why not a penguin now
when a duck sort of did it first
- hmm?

Maybe a Puffin Bin Laden is next?

Brilliant Beantown - Luculent Lore!

Going To Boston... Boston... Boston, Massachusetts...
Ohh, I'm going to Boston...
Oh yeah baby - I'm telling you like it is; I'm going to Boston!
The City of Champions - yeah baby!

(Singing this to the rhythms of Paul Simon's old tune about some other place that he visited - wherever that was...! Oh yeah: I'll be singing these lyrics I spontaneously cooked up on my way to... BOSTON!)

And I will be going there a mere few weeks after I went to... CUBA!

Is it to antagonize Americans in general, that I get to go where they cannot go, due to their own embargo and associated imbroglios...? (As for the latter, sing it to the tune of Guantanamera like I do...! But that's another story - back to our questioning here!)

Is it to partake of the ambiance that permeates the entire Boston area, ever since they defeated seven annoying adversaries in roughly a decade (give or take 12 months) and were therefore crowned seven times in that short span, effectively becoming the city of champions, hoping some of that will rub off on me and extend my very own lucky streak (hopefully make it reach ever higher, greater heights too!) and consecrate me as a champion, too?

Or is it simply to bask in the merriment of March Break *and* upcoming St-Patrick's Day festivities in a city that truly appreciates the Green... The Red... The Silver... And the Black and the Gold! But we're getting sidetracked here, now...!

Let's say that it is, quite simply, all of the above!

(After all, I am a history buff -formally trained in the field too but, alas, with the least interesting subject there was- and I may just be in the midst of a Revolutionary Tour -instead of, say, an umpteenth Luminous Tour?- so certainly Cuba and America had to be the first two stops there! In that order. Just to antagonize Americana - indeed! After all, the latter's revolution was done and over with by the late 1780s while, in Cuba, it's 53 years of Revoluciòn - and counting! They had to be first. Next stop: I think I'll simply go back to Bulgaria then...? But let's leave all that revolutionary talk at that, for now...)

And let's just explore the luminous city of... Boston!

Truth be told, we didn't have time to truly roam all the historical sites, streets, nooks and crannies of the great city of BOSTON - but we saw enough and we WILL RETURN...! And, next time, we'll shoot for certain true blue Bostonian standards as far as the choice of our lodgings are concerned - not that we were poorly set up at all, mind you, but then again we were not in Boston per say: we were in one of its suburbs' hotels!

On our way there, though, we know what to expect now for we had to go through the harshest territories there are or that there could possibly be (you know the drill: New Hampshire, Maine... Vermont! Brrrrr - it's so damn cold there! But then again - we were coming from the darndest, grimiest cold town there is: murky Montréal - yerck!) and we had the fortune of stopping by The Eastside Restaurant & Pub - if we had not, we would have surely died!

And to think that the American customs guy sent us, originally, to Hoagie's! It was a chance encounter at the gas station that made us discover The Eastside, guiding us there! You can eat as unhealthily as cops and other boogers do, customs guy - but we sure won't!

The Eastside is described as a fine establishment and its slogan sums up its attributes well; it reads like this - "fine family dining on the water." The menu does have lots of seafood on it - but not exclusively that, fear not! Fine dining on or by the water is just fine with me though: I love the water!  And that means that dirty water too! And, so it is here, The Eastside, by the sea, with an atmosphere of nautical paradise (complete with washrooms for mates and mermaids) that most certainly can be more convincing once it is summertime again! We gotta drop by once more - the very next time that we'll be going to BOSTON!

Oscar-Time = Tune Out Time!

Oscar-time is a moment to ignore, in my world: for what is there to celebrate in Tinseltown?

They claim that in Hollywood "you can build a dream out of nothing" (Hugh Jackman claimed so much anyways) - but that is a total and utter lie. For everybody knows that it always takes money to make money; heck, it takes yogurt to make more yogurt out of milk...! That means everything else needs an initial investment too... Hence, evidently, what it means here is that in order to reach a fully-blossomed dream, your dream has to be already half-way there to begin with! Thanks, Tinseltown!

They claim that it is the event of the year - entertainment at its best. And yet, it is so tenuous, abysmally long and sleep-inducing that it boggles the mind...! Will & Jack admitted so much, at least - but it was all in jest, of course... However, as with everything else in Tinseltown, everything has a concealed meaning - everything is hiding something else... And the truth is oftentimes revealed in jest indeed - through wincing teeth!

The worst aspect has to be the heights of hypocrisy reached each and every year when a winner is announced - which automatically announces, also, four-to-five LOSERS. (Nominees or contenders, by any other name...)

Tinseltown, in truth, bears little difference from Sin City - it is a cut-throat, take-no-prisoners, show-no-mercy kinda neighbourhood that takes PLEASURE from the competition's downfall - and why not, since said competition is both fierce and merciless and to be found practically on every corner of the wretched place?

So, what do I do, each and every Oscar night?

I abstain from television altogether!
I do something far more constructive with the long hours otherwise wasted watching this 'ceremony' - I do something good for the environment, beneficial for the greater whole, make myself useful in the kitchen or something...!

For I will not be dictated what movies to watch. I will not be told which thespians are "worthier" and I will not be instructed which filmmakers to follow...

Nominees - schnimpanzees! I care not if the flick has been nominated or not - won it or not - is rated anything from A to Z...!

I WILL DECIDE WHAT SUBJECTS I WANT TO SEE TREATED ON FILM!

I WILL SELECT WHICH PRODUCTIONS I DEVOTE MY PRECIOUS TIME TO!

And I certainly will not waste said time on award shows OF ANY ILK!

The "Academy" is not even a true academy in the true meaning of the word...!!!

Their rating system is flawed to the core!

Whenever they give a chance to new talent, it is a pathway seamed with as many roadblocks and thorns as can be...!

Take *Project Green Light* for instance - have you ever heard of it again, after its inauguration by not one but two precious "Academy Award winners" - huh?

On YouTube, "Oscars" doesn't even make its precious videos -mere excerpts from their insufferably long Oscars night telecasts- available for embedding!

And said events are, once again, but a waste of everyone's time...

Oftentimes, the major winners are not even there to accept the prize - and when they do, they are BORING and repetitive! It's a no-win situation either way!

Not only that, but it can lead to truly odd live television moments - as when a Marlon Brando delegated someone else to take the award, in political protest... Or when the winner simply refuses the award, on the spot, also in protest!

The Oscars, as they came to be known, are quite simply all glitz and gaffes!

The only saving grace of such things are the comedy bits - but, if you truly want to laugh, you'll leave it to the professionals over at Comedy Central to tickle your funny bone, no?!?

Many action or "dramatic" actors are simply not suitable to entertain us that certain way...!

Yet they still persist, on top of the comedy bits, and even insist on having DANCE AND SONG numbers as well...

Yikes!

Aren't musicals a dead issue in Hollywood - or is the latter trying to be like Bollywood now? Funny if it is the case because, just a few short years ago, the emulating was the other way around, of course...

Musicals are not making a comeback, like westerns did, I hope?

Since most of the truly meaningful *Academy Awards* are given away off-camera, during the previous night "dark ceremony" (makes the Academy sound like a cross between the Illuminati and the Freemasons!) why not save everyone's time and simply mail ALL the Awards to their recipients - WITHOUT A SHOW AT ALL!

The Oscars would actually gain in CREDIBILITY, I tell you...!

Since the on-the-spot reactions of any winner -even the most gifted actor- suck royally (take Tom Hanks' disappointing speech in 1995 - disappointing to all save Rita Wilson - as an example...) and the subsequent display of hypocrisy from the other nominees is unbearable to watch (in that same example, watch Paul Newman's smiling effort; he knew it was his last chance, and he lost, and he mustered all of his acting skill NOT to show his disappointment that night...) thus it stands to reason to completely stop that nonsense already.

Purists will say "but it's tradition"...

HA. "Movies" or "talkies" have only been around since the beginning of the 20th Century - that is NOTHING!

CENTURIES-OLD FOLKLORIC DANCES, RELIGIOUS FESTIVALS, RITUALISTIC CULTURAL GATHERINGS IN COUNTRIES MUCH OLDER THAN AMERICA - NOW THAT IS TRADITION!

Tinseltown is just a phase human-folk has been going through, in comparison...

So keep it in that perspective; think outside the box that the entertainment industry has cast around your head!

You don't have to go watch every summer blockbuster they put out!
You don't have to believe any hype generated by Awards that were, will be or might have been won - in any way!
You are not obligated to support the lifestyles of these bloated egos who flock to Cannes and the Hills, and frown upon you and your folk since all they want is your money!
And you don't have to buy any of the crap that they are selling!

In short, you have the right to say no to Oscar - since he practically is begging for it!

That is simply the luminous thing to do - lest it is the luculent one?
;-)
